Care Services and Support
Find answers to common questions about our in-home care services, payment options, referrals, and how we support patients and families every step of the way.
What types of care do you provide?
We provide personal care and companionship, skilled nursing, brain, spinal cord and catastrophic injury care, stroke and post-surgical recovery support, Alzheimer's and dementia care, and 24/7 care.
Do you only care for seniors?
No. We serve adults with a range of needs. This includes older adults as well as people recovering from surgery, hospitalization, stroke, rehabilitation, neurological injury, brain or spinal cord injury, catastrophic injury, chronic illness, and other conditions requiring support at home.
What makes Jackson Specialty Care Group different?
We are RN co-owned and clinically led, with the ability to coordinate personal care, skilled nursing, complex-care support, and 24/7 services. Our approach combines clinical oversight with individualized care planning and responsive communication with families and professional partners.
Do you provide skilled nursing at home?
Yes. Skilled nursing may include medication administration and management, wound care, wound VAC support, tracheostomy and ventilator care, ostomy care, bowel and bladder care, catheter care, clinical monitoring, post-surgical nursing, and other services appropriate to the client's plan of care.
Do you provide 24/7 care?
Yes. We can coordinate continuous in-home support across shifts for clients who need around-the-clock personal care, supervision, skilled nursing, or a combination of services.
Is there a minimum schedule for care?
Our standard schedule is a minimum of 8 hours per shift and 3 days per week. This helps us build more consistent staffing and continuity for our clients. We understand that some situations may require less. If you need fewer hours or fewer days, please call us so we can discuss the situation and determine whether we can accommodate the care needed.
Can the schedule change when appointments or other needs come up?
We work best with a consistent recurring schedule because it supports dependable staffing and continuity of care. We understand that medical appointments, procedures, therapy, and family needs can require adjustments. We ask for as much advance notice as possible when a schedule change is needed.
How quickly can care begin?
The start of care depends on the client's needs, required staffing, schedule, location, assessment, and whether specialized or skilled nursing services are needed. If a hospital or rehabilitation discharge is approaching, contact us as early as possible so we can review the case and timeline.
How do we get started?
Start with a phone call, contact form, or referral. We will learn about the client's needs, desired schedule, home situation, and any clinical requirements. From there, we complete the appropriate assessment, develop the care plan, coordinate staffing, and confirm the start of services.
Can a hospital or rehabilitation facility refer directly to you?
Yes. We welcome referrals from hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, trauma programs, discharge planners, social workers, physicians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
Do you work with case managers and workers' compensation?
Yes. We work with case managers and workers' compensation professionals and understand the importance of communication, coordination, documentation, and keeping care at home aligned with the broader recovery plan.
Can attorneys refer clients?
Yes. Attorneys and legal professionals may refer clients who need personal care, skilled nursing, catastrophic injury support, or other in-home services. We can coordinate with the appropriate members of the client's care and recovery team.
Can you work with long-term care insurance?
Yes. We can work with clients and families using long-term care insurance. Coverage and documentation requirements vary by policy, so please contact us to discuss the specific plan and care needs.
Do you accept private-pay clients?
Yes. Private pay is available for clients and families arranging services directly.
Do you accept Medicaid?
Jackson Specialty Care Group is not currently a Medicaid provider.
Does Medicare or health insurance cover your services?
Coverage depends on the service, payer, policy, and eligibility requirements. Because every plan is different, please contact us so we can discuss the care need and payment source rather than making assumptions about coverage.
How are caregivers and nurses matched with clients?
We consider the client's care needs, required skills, schedule, personality, home environment, and other important factors. For specialized and clinical cases, we also consider the experience and credentials required by the plan of care.
What happens if the client's needs change?
Care needs can change during recovery or over time. We encourage families and professional partners to communicate changes promptly so the care plan and level of support can be reviewed and adjusted when appropriate.
How do families stay informed?
Communication is an important part of our approach. We keep families informed through direct communication and the care coordination processes established for the client. When applicable, secure client tools may also be used for schedules, care updates, messages, and care-related information.
Are you insured?
Yes. Jackson Specialty Care Group is a Georgia-licensed private home care provider and maintains appropriate insurance for the services we provide.
